The Cultural Association PERSÉPHONE was founded in Bologna in 2001 to seek, promote and divulge an original repertoire with a transversal logic between chamber music, literature and/or poetry, puppet theatre, lighting effects, multimedia applications and contemporary dance.

The most concrete expression of our idea of Art is ATTI SONORI, theatre performances with music concerts, the festival which we have devised and organized in a first edition, between February and March 2005, in Bologna’s Arena del Sole theatre. The festival is characterised by the production of performances in which diverse languages are joined together, starting with classical music pairing up with other art forms: Theatre, Dance, the Nouveau Cirque and Puppet theatre; these couplings have taken place by joining forces with third parties and artists who share our same fascination for the interaction between different forms of art. Since the first edition, the festival has grown spreading out to other theatres in Bologna and in the surrounding towns.

Since the summer of 2005, a section of Atti Sonori has been developed for the summer season– ATTI SONORI, theatre concerts– held in the courtyard of Bologna’s Music Museum, where theatre concerts and semi-scenic forms of performances are programmed; this part is inserted in the summer playbill of bè bolognaestate , which is arranged by Bologna’s municipality.
The festival is funded by the Ministry for Cultural Goods and Activities, the Emilia –Romagna Region, Bologna’s Province, its Municipality, the Foundation of its Mutual Savings Bank, by Castello d’Argile’s Municipality (BO), by Vergato’s Municipality (BO), as well as by other private firms and institutions.
The Association deals with the artistic and organizational management of various festivals and shows in Bologna and in some Municipalities within its Province:

- Atti Sonori, theatre performances with music concerts, new productions- Bologna, february- may.

- Atti Sonori, theatre concerts, hosting and new projects - Cloister of the Music Museum in Bologna and in Municipalities within its Province July - August

- InCanto d’Argile, the season of Castello d’Argile’s Town Theatre(BO), November -April.

- Col favore del Buio, Loiano’s Astronomical Observatory, August.

Association produces a historical performance on a yearly basis; for instance in 2005 the “Angel of Memories” was prepared for the 60th anniversary of the liberation from Nazi-fascism, with repeat performances in 2006 and 2007, funded by Bologna’s Municipality, its Province and by the CARISBO Foundation.
